About the Age Calculator

This calculator computes your exact age using the calendar difference between your birthdate and today. It correctly handles month-end edge cases, like February birthdays and months with different day counts. The total days figure counts every calendar day from your birth date to today, including leap years.

The next birthday section shows the date of your upcoming birthday and how many days away it is. If today is your birthday, it shows 0 days remaining. All calculations run entirely in your browser with no data stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is exact age calculated?

Exact age is calculated by counting complete years from your birthdate to today, then the remaining complete months, then the remaining days. For example, if you were born on March 20, 1990, and today is January 15, 2024, you are 33 years, 9 months, and 26 days old.

How many days old am I?

Your total days lived equals the number of calendar days from your birthdate to today. A 30-year-old has lived approximately 10,950 days, though the exact count varies based on how many leap years fell in your lifetime. The Age Calculator shows your precise total.

What if I was born on February 29 (leap day)?

If you were born on February 29, the calculator uses your actual birth date to compute your age. In non-leap years when February 29 does not exist, your birthday is considered to occur on March 1 for age-counting purposes, which is the common legal convention in most countries.

How do I calculate someone else's age?

Simply enter the other person's birthdate in the date field. The calculator works for any birth date from the past. The Share button generates a URL with the birthdate pre-filled, making it easy to send to someone who wants to check their own age.
