About Capacitance
Capacitance measures how much electric charge a device can store per volt of potential difference. The simplest capacitor is two parallel conducting plates separated by an insulator (dielectric). The capacitance of parallel plates equals epsilon times area divided by distance, where epsilon is the permittivity of the dielectric material. Capacitors are fundamental components in electronics, used for energy storage, filtering, coupling, and timing circuits.
